Cheers to 20 Years!

Cheers to 20 Years!
7:15

20 years. 1043 weeks. 7305 days. Countless phone calls, emails, celebrations, and anniversaries. This past month we had the opportunity to celebrate all of it, the highs, the lows, and everything in between and we could not be more grateful to have had the opportunity to honor all that we have been through.

Taking a look back, there are so many things that were defining factors in our success, but here are the ones that stood out to us the most.

Our Culture

Wisdom. Growth. Other's First.

Our culture is built on the idea that we are always working to be better than we were yesterday. Whether it’s learning from each other, celebrating wins, giving back to our communities, or finding new ways to support our teams, that mindset drives how we show up.

Over the years, our team has evolved. We have welcomed new perspectives but our core belief has stayed the same: our people are our greatest asset. When they grow, we grow. The more we invest in ourselves, the more we can invest in others and By continuously bettering ourselves, both as individuals and as a company, we’re able to better support our clinicians, strengthen our partnerships, and continue building a company we’re proud of for the next 20 years and beyond.

“LRS Healthcare’s success has always been rooted in our culture. We’ve built a team that is driven, collaborative, and deeply committed to connecting talented healthcare professionals with the facilities and communities that need them. When you surround great people with a culture that values accountability, support, and continuous improvement, you create an environment where people want to stay, grow, and do their best work. That culture is a big part of what has sustained LRS for the past 20 years.” - Kendra Slater , VP of HR & Corporate Compliance

Relationships Matter

In healthcare staffing, relationships matter. Clinicians aren’t just placements—they’re people with goals, passions, and lives beyond their assignments. Facilities aren’t just clients—they’re partners working to deliver quality care to their communities. Our culture reminds us to keep those connections front and center and to approach every interaction with empathy, accountability, and purpose.

"The heart of LRS has never been the business we run — it’s the people we serve. Our caregivers are the center of our story, and the relationships we build with them are what have carried us through two decades of growth and change. Success has never been the goal; earning trust has." - Travis Powers, Sr. VP of Production

Adaptability

If there is one constant in healthcare staffing, it's change. Over the last 20 years, LRS has been no stranger to it, and we learned early that adaptability was going to be critical to our success. We have seen a lot in 20 years; a global pandemic, a technology boom, shifting workspace needs, but one of the key changes we've had was joining the Jackson Healthcare family in 2023.

Being acquired brought us new opportunities, new resources, and new perspectives. It has challenged us to grow while staying true to who we are. With a shared vision of bettering patient care delivery and the lives of those we touch, we have been able to continuously improve our technology and our processes so that we can better serve our clinicians and partners with speed, accuracy, and transparency.

What once relied on spreadsheets, phone calls, and manual processes has evolved into sophisticated platforms, real-time data, and streamlined communication tools. Embracing these innovations hasn’t just made us more efficient, it’s allowed us to better serve our clinicians and partners.

At the same time, the needs of both facilities and clinicians are constantly evolving. With the rapid growth of an aging population, aftershocks still felt from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the constant ebb and flow of everyday needs, staying ahead is critical. It means listening closely, responding quickly, and continuously refining how we support those on the front lines of care.

Through every shift our commitment has never wavered. We adapt so we can continue to connect people to meaningful work, support healthcare teams nation-wide, and deliver the level of service our partners rely on. Because in an ever-changing world, adaptability isn’t just about keeping up, it’s about leading the way forward.

Growth Comes from Challenges

Over the past 20 years, growth hasn’t always come from easy moments—it’s come from the challenges that pushed us to think differently, act quickly, and evolve. In healthcare staffing, obstacles are inevitable. But those moments have also been where the most meaningful growth happens. Challenges force us to reevaluate, to innovate, and to find better solutions—not just for ourselves, but for the clinicians and partners who depend on us. They’ve strengthened our resilience, sharpened our problem-solving, and reinforced the importance of staying agile in an ever-changing industry.

As we look ahead, we know challenges will continue to come. But if the last 20 years have taught us anything, it’s that growth isn’t found in comfort—it’s built through the moments that push us to be better.

“I am a big believer in the old saying 'what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger'! If you spend any time with me you will hear me say that sometimes it hurts to stretch your brain but once stretched it never goes back to its original size and I believe that. As we take a look back at our 20 years as LRS Healthcare I thought I would share a few fun facts of what staffing looked in 2006.
  • We operated from desk phones and pagers! Mobile phones for business were not a thing.
  • Sales teams used Mapsco to get around – a giant book of printed maps by region – Google Maps didn’t exist.
  • Have you ever heard of a DOS system? It was a black screen with green blocky lettering that you ‘tabbed’ all day long to get where you needed to go.
  • Staffing companies had internal HUGE housing teams that negotiated your washer/dryer, pet approval and you shared apartments with strangers.
  • If you needed nurses, you ran ads in the paper – there weren't Vivian or LinkedIn. Facebook and Indeed were just getting started. Remember MySpace?
  • Most clients had onsite staffing offices where we would place Client Managers on premise to manage the staff, issue payroll, and in some cases, administer drug screens.
  • Women wore hose and men wore ties to the office – tattoos not allowed.

We have come a long way. Rapid growth, pandemics, decline and stabilization, and yet, through it all, we remain invested in our quality, our competitive spirit and our committed desire for growth. The one thing we can count on in this fast paced industry we call home is change! I am proud of how we have grown with the market and the years – innovative technology, creative marketing, and a willingness to do whatever we can to succeed – and I like our tattoos. Keep being you and lets make LRS a place that your legacy lives on.” – Kim Howard, President
