The year rolls by, each month going faster than the last it seems, and suddenly you are halfway through it and realize you haven’t quite yet hit those goals you set in January. But… do those goals still even apply?
You’ve gone through so much growth, and it only makes sense that your goals grow alongside you. Six months down, six months to go. It’s the perfect time to sit down, review the goals you set and really ask yourself what you want from the rest of the year.
Here are a few quick steps to review your goals and the last six months, as well as some tips to set yourself up for success in the latter half of the year!
Your goals should always be a priority. Set aside some dedicated time to review your goals.
This isn’t only about resetting for the remainder of the year but reflecting on all you have accomplished already. You’ve worked hard and you should be proud! Take the time to reflect on the following:
Use these answers to help inform your next goals!
Now spend some time on the other side of the fence. Sometimes it can be hard to reflect and be honest about roadblocks and resistance, but this can be key to setting attainable goals! Ask yourself:
With your answers in hand, you have a much clearer picture to pull from. From here, you can start piecing together your new, or re-imagined, goals for the remainder of the year. Here are a few things to consider as you embark on your new path:
Changing isn’t the same as quitting. Who you are today isn’t who you were in January, and it only makes sense that your goals might need to adjust. Letting go of a goal that doesn’t fit into who you are today doesn’t mean you are quitting, that you are lazy, or inconsistent. It just means that you recognize your growth, what’s important to you, and your own boundaries.
Goals grow, just as you do.
Apps are a great start, but it can be easy to silence a notification. Sharing your goals with a friend, family member or coworker can help keep you accountable. Set check-ins at a recurring time to help keep yourself motivated and accountable to your goals!
We’ve all heard it, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. It started with a house. A road. A park… you get the idea. No one expects you to change overnight. Start small. Set aside 15 minutes instead of an hour. Start with one day a week instead of five. Apply to just one job instead of twenty. Then build.
The mid-year point is the perfect time to pause, check in with yourself, and make any shifts you need. These resets aren’t about starting over—they’re about moving forward with more clarity and intention. So take a breath, revisit your goals, and give yourself permission to pivot where it feels right. You’ve still got six months to make this year truly yours—why not start today?
